In the 24800 block of Elmira Street in Tomball, Texas, on December 19, 2023, deputies from the Harris County Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a welfare check.
The inquiry found that on a day with a low temperature of 55 degrees, Christina Stewart, the mother, was leaving her four children, ages eight, five, four, and two, at home by themselves without adult supervision. There was also no food, drink, or warmth.
Stewart came back when the deputies arrived, and he was then brought into custody.

Child Protective Services was informed and made aware of the case’s specifics. When a family member showed up, the four kids were given to them.
Stewart was taken into custody and charged with child abandonment with the intent to return. He was lodged in the Harris County Jail. The 228th District Court ordered $10,000.00 as her bail.
