The dispensation of benefits for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) involves careful planning and strict adherence to specified protocols.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) ensures the prompt delivery of benefits to eligible households through the Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) system.

TANF benefits are allocated within the initial three days of each month, contingent on the last digit of the Eligibility Determination Group (EDG) number.

Similarly, SNAP benefits are distributed at various intervals throughout the month based on the last two digits of the EDG number.

The dispensation of benefits for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) involves careful planning and strict adherence to specified protocols.

For the current week, beneficiaries with EDG numbers ending from 00 to 13 will receive their February SNAP benefits.

Nevertheless, specific households may receive prorated benefits at the time of application, along with the subsequent month’s allocation, consolidated into a single deposit in their EBT account.

It is essential to underscore that SNAP benefits cannot be dispensed more than 40 days after the previous issuance.

Adjustments are accommodated for households whose benefits align with their scheduled issuance date.

Furthermore, households certified before a particular date maintain their existing issuance schedule unless there is a hiatus in benefits lasting at least six months.

In adherence to the timeliness standards established by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), benefits are promptly credited to accounts upon processing.

Priority issuances are accessible for expedited applications, applications certified after the 25th day, and benefits authorized by a hearing officer decision, ensuring the prompt availability of benefits.
