Although the Wolverines have been on top of their rivalry with Ohio State for the past three years, that is no excuse for them to relax.
Taylor Lewan, a former star of Maize and Blue, is worried that one of Ohio State’s best defensive players may announce his return to the team in 2024, even after Michigan won the national title only two days ago.
Cornerback Denzel Burke announced his return to school, and in reaction, Lewan tweeted, “This… this is not ideal news.” Thereafter, Burke continued.

Not only will Burke be returning for the 2024–25 season as a Buckeye, but he was also named to the first team All–Big Ten that year.
Also announcing his intention to remain on Wednesday was offensive guard Donovan Jackson.
Burke and Jackson were likely influenced by the fact that the team had gone three years without a Big Ten title or a victory over Michigan, their bitter rivals.
Many Ohio State supporters will consider the 2024 season a failure if the Buckeyes fail to accomplish any of those goals.
