People in South Florida will have one less choice, though, because a famous candy store closed because of money problems.
This chain of ice cream shops was started in 1984 by a fireman who named a small shop after his wife. At some point, the store would grow very large. It is now in 30 states and has about 500 shops, according to the company’s website and LinkedIn.

How Did Things Go In Florida? According to Tap Into Coral Springs, the company announced on social media in September 2023 that it would be closing its University Drive site. The post included the following:
“We tried our best to hang in there but it’s just not enough. We will sourly miss the love and support we got from this Community and encourage all of our fans to stop in one last time to say goodbye.”
The newspaper said that there was supposedly a note from the owner on the front door saying that the restaurant owed $13,147 in rent.
The Sun says that the social media post only gave a few days’ notice of the closing.
