A terrible wave of fear swept through the state of Maine when a lone shooter, known as Robert Card, went on a killing spree that killed at least 22 people and hurt many more. The terrible event, which included multiple mass shootings, has shocked the community and led to a huge search for the armed and likely dangerous attacker.

The card was seen on security video entering a bowling hall in the town of Lewiston with a semi-automatic gun that had an extended clip out. This was the start of a horrifying chain of events. The trained gun teacher and US Army Reserve member quickly turned a calm evening into a scene of tragedy and chaos.

Robert McCarthy, a city council member from Lewiston, told the sad truth: police had proven that 22 people had died and many more had been hurt.

Reports say the killings happened in several places, which made large parts of Lewiston a lockdown zone. As police swarmed the streets in search of the gunman, businesses were told to close and people were told to stay put.

Because of how serious the situation was, Mike Sauschuck, a public safety official in Maine, wouldn’t say how many people had died, stressing that the situation was still changing. He told reporters that hundreds of police officers across the state were working nonstop to look into the case and find Robert Card.

Rescue teams from central Maine raced to the scene to respond to the injured, and every staff member who was not on duty at the two Lewiston hospitals was called in to help with the cleanup.

Calling senators, a local congressman, and the governor of Maine, President Joe Biden offered federal help. He did this while interrupting a state banquet honoring Australia’s prime leader.

Armed police stationed at the Central Maine Medical Center, where several injured patients were being treated, began to gather around the facility. In reaction to the developing tragedy, some educational establishments, including Bates College, declared that classes would be suspended.

Police and emergency personnel reportedly rushed to many venues, including the Schemengees Bar & Grille and the bowling alley at Sparetime Recreation.

Card, who was shown on camera approaching the bowling alley coolly and with his gun raised, is still at large, thus the police have issued a request for information regarding his location.

Confirming that two active shooter incidents were being investigated, the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department advised businesses to lock down or close while the investigation was ongoing.

Distressed residents gathered at nearby hospitals in search of consolation and information as the state deals with one of the bloodiest mass shooting situations since 2017.

According to wrestlingnews365, the Gun Violence Archive, there have been over 500 mass shootings in the US this year alone due to gun violence, a persistent and concerning problem. Despite the worldwide outcry, there is still no political solution to gun control, making Wednesday’s atrocity the bloodiest mass shooting of 2023.

The second-most populated city in Maine, Lewiston, is currently at the epicenter of a tragedy that is forcing residents, authorities, and the country to deal with the terrible fallout from yet another senseless act of violence.
