Three days after police found bones along a greenbelt in south Austin, they arrested and charged a man with murder. According to the U.S. Marshals Service, the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force caught Malcolm Martin Lee, 24, also known as “Tanto,” at a camp off of Parker Lane.

At first, an unidentified tip told the Travis County Sheriff’s Office about a murder that happened in the spring at a camp in the West Bouldin Creek Greenbelt.

Austin police searched the area with a K-9 corpse dog search team on November 29. They found the bones of a person, which were then collected so that they could be identified.

Austin Police asked the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to help them find Lee on December 12.

When task force members came up to him at the camp, Lee tried to run away but was caught and taken into prison. Online records show that he is still in the Travis County Jail on a $1 million bond.
