Hit-and-run Driver Kills 36-year-old Man in Westminster

A 36-year-old Garden Grove man was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Westminster early Saturday morning.

The incident happened on Bishop Street, west of Brookhurst Street, according to WPD Commander Kevin MacCormick. Officers were summoned to the scene at 4:43 a.m. in response to a complaint of a collision.

When police arrived, they saw a guy lying in the roadway with injuries “consistent with being struck by a vehicle.” Orange County Fire Authority officials responded and pronounced the guy deceased at the site. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his relatives.

Officers were told by a “possible” witness that the individual was struck by a car, described as a tiny black sedan, that fled the scene westbound on Bishop Street at Belgrade Street.

Anyone who observed the crash is encouraged to contact WPD Traffic Division Sgt. Anil Adam at (714) 548-3770.
