THE BEACH CITY, FLA. (WJHG/WECP) – Don’t put the coat away yet!
After a few showers yesterday, a cold front has moved through our area and is now heading south to the Florida Peninsula. With clear skies, light northwest winds, and dry air, tonight is a good night for one last winter-like cool down before the first day of spring. Tonight, the temperature will drop into the 50s and 40s. By Tuesday morning, the temperature will have briefly dropped into the 30s across the whole area. It’s not expected that there will be widespread frost, but there could be some patchy frost along I10.
Tuesday, surface high pressure will move into the southeast. This will start a pattern of fair weather and sunny skies that will last through the middle of the week. Tuesday will have mostly sunny skies with only a few clouds here and there. The good news is that the nice sunshine won’t do much to change the cold weather. Tomorrow, it will be hard to get warm because highs will only reach the low 60s by mid-afternoon. That helped cool things down a bit, and another cool night is on the way for Wednesday.

In the end, temperatures will rise back to normal levels by Wednesday afternoon. They will stay there through the weekend, and early next week, they will rise again to the middle and upper 70s.
By Thursday night, the Panhandle should be hit by a round of scattered storms and rain. Near the coast, it will probably rain the most, but most of the area will get at least a quarter to half an inch of rain. It looks like the rain will stop just in time for the weekend.
