Lance Damon Reid, 49, of Houston, was discovered dead in a truck near Fredricksburg, according to a Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office press release.

On March 15, about 12:45 p.m. CDT, a 45-year-old Montgomery woman called for help, claiming she had been drugged and kidnapped, according to KVUE-TV. She also admitted to shooting someone and identified Reid’s vehicle as well as the weapon she used, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to KVUE, a deputy arriving at the scene saw the vehicle described by the woman in the outside lane of westbound traffic on U.S. 290. Reid was discovered in the front seat of the vehicle and was pronounced dead by rescue personnel, according to the news station.

“The two had recently met and were familiar with one another, and were on a planned weekend trip together when this occurred,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

The San Antonio Express-News stated that no charges had been filed. An investigation is ongoing.
