So we crunched the facts and studied 208 communities with over 5,000 people using crime statistics. We examined key indicators such as property and violent crime rates per capita in cities ranging from Jacksonville to Miami.

The 10 Safest Cities In Florida For 2024

1. Tequesta

  • Population: 6,193

  • Property Crimes Per 100k: 435 (third safest)

The city earns top ratings for having the fourth and fifth lowest statewide rates of property and violent crime, respectively. And, with only two violent offenses and 35 property crimes in the past year of available data, you can be very certain that those “Florida man” headline memes are not from Tequesta.

2. Weston

Established as a city in 1996, Arvida/JMB Realty built part of the town, which is located near Broward County’s western development limit. It is the most western city in Broward County, with the whole west side bordering the Everglades.

3. Parkland
