Buzz Alert: Cicada Attack Predicted in East Tennessee!

0

Two cicadas broods will come out at the same time for the first time since 1803. One will come out after 17 years and the other after 13 years. A news release from the UT Arboretum Society says they should arrive in late May or early June, based on how warm it is.

In East Tennessee, where will they show up? The First Thursday Nature Supper Club is having a Zoom show on April 4 at 7 p.m. The Arboretum Society is behind the event.

The release said that Michelle Campanis, who is in charge of education at the University of Tennessee Arboretum, and Stephen Lyn Bales, who is a biologist, author, and artist, will talk about these interesting bugs.

The event is free, but you have to sign up to get your Zoom link and the recording. People who sign up at www.utarboretumsociety.org will get a recording of the event.
