At around 6 p.m. Thursday, BCSO said the officer was on his way to the 11000 block of Talon Run on the Northwest Side to help with a knife case involving a child and his mother.

But before the officer got there, he was in a crash with several other cars on Wiseman and Cottonwood Way. One person, an adult 42 years old, a child 3 years old, and the driver were taken to the hospital with injuries. The officer was not hurt.
