Woman’s Ex Shoots 22-year-old in Head as He Helps Her Leave Apartment, League City Police Report

LEAGUE CITY, Texas (KTRK)– Police say a guy was shot in the head while helping a buddy who was moving out of a League City residence when her ex-boyfriend started shooting.

At 3:17 a.m., according to the League City Police Department, police were summoned to the 2200 block of Beacon Circle.

When they arrived, police found a guy, 22, who had been shot in the head.

According to the woman’s friends, Irkan Notta, her 26-year-old ex-boyfriend, became upset when she went to the flat to get her stuff.

Police said that three separate vehicles were being used by the victim and two other people to leave the area.

At that point, the victim’s pickup truck’s rear glass was shot out, reportedly by Notta, who also grazed the back of the head.

After being brought to the hospital, he was aware and conversing with medical staff.

The same couple was arguing hours earlier, according to the officers who stated they were sent to the scene.

“At around 11 p.m. on Friday, officers were called to a disturbance between the suspect and his ex-girlfriend. When the police arrived, they helped the woman gather her possessions and make her overnight departure. At that point, it didn’t seem like a crime had been committed, according to Officer Jose Ortega.

After being taken into custody, Notta was granted a $100,000 bail and charged with aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.
