Tragic Incident at Church’s Chicken in Memphis: Worker Fatally Shot in Customer Altercation

On Monday night in West Tennessee, a customer and a fast food worker got into a dispute that ended fatally when the customer shot a female employee after an argument.

Police say people were shot and murdered just before 9:10 p.m. at a Memphis Church’s Chicken. At 9:10 p.m., police were dispatched to the Park Avenue business, located about six miles southeast of downtown Memphis, for a gunshot.

According to a news release, when police arrived, they discovered a woman who had been shot at least once and transported her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. According to police, the victim was working at the restaurant when a woman in an SUV pulled into the drive-thru and began fighting with the employee.

It wasn’t immediately evident what the two were arguing about.

According to the release, police said, “The teal SUV drove off the lot, and the victim walked outside to get some air.” “A few moments later a gunshot was heard and the teal-colored SUV was seen on video speeding off the parking lot.”

Soon after, the victim of the shooting was discovered in the parking lot.

Police have not released the victim’s name or age as of Tuesday.

According to police, the person recorded on tape yelling with the worker was a woman with purple hair driving a teal compact SUV.

On Tuesday, no one had been detained in the case, which authorities said was still being investigated.
