Despite the impression that everything is closed on Christmas Day, a surprising amount of restaurants are open.
Not many local eateries decide to stay open on Christmas, but the list below includes national chain restaurants that are open on the holiday. You may enjoy Christmas Eve hours at many restaurants, but the majority of your locally-owned establishments will close early.
Due to their customary planned hours of operation, certain locations may already be closed on Christmas Eve wherever you are in the Palmetto State. Please remember that this year’s Christmas Eve occurs on a Sunday.

Still, on Christmas Day, these are open.
- Wet Willie’s – Christmas Day hours from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- IHOP – In keeping with their customary 24/7 schedule, all IHOP locations are open on Christmas Day.
- Waffle House: Since they are Waffle House, they will be open on Christmas Day and will continue to operate on their regular schedule, which is 24/7.
- Huddle House: This year, Huddle House will be open for Christmas in addition to its typical 24/7 hours.
- Denny’s – Open on Christmas Day.
- Starbucks: You can get breakfast, lunch, and of course coffee on Christmas Day at most locations. To be sure, double-check beforehand.
- Buffalo Wild Wings – The majority of restaurants are open on Christmas Day. To be sure, double-check before arrival.
- Dunkin Donuts: Please check ahead since most Dunkin Donuts locations are open on Christmas Day.
- Applebee’s – On Christmas Day, the majority of restaurants are open.
