Within a span of three weeks, authorities in Alaska are scheduled to disburse Permanent Fund Dividend payments to a new cohort of eligible residents who have not yet received their checks through the state program.

To qualify for a payment from the Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) in Alaska, an individual must express an intention to remain a resident indefinitely and must not have a felony conviction, among other stipulations.

Under Alaska’s Permanent Fund Dividend program, eligible residents receive an annual check based on the state’s mineral revenues for that particular year.

The 2023 payment amounted to $1,312 per eligible resident, with distribution commencing in October 2023.

Adam Crum, the Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Revenue, acknowledged the 42nd year of Alaskans receiving a share of the state’s natural resource wealth through the 2023 PFD payment.

In expressing gratitude, he specifically thanked the Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their continuous efforts in administering the program and processing applications.

“In 2023, we handled over 8,000 additional applications compared to the previous year,” he stated. “The 2023 Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) will infuse nearly $1 billion into the state’s economy, directly benefiting Alaskans.”

Submit 2024 PFD Applications by March 31

Eligible residents can now submit applications for the 2024 Permanent Fund Dividend until March 31.

Applications can be completed either online or using a paper form.

Additional details about the Permanent Fund Dividend can be accessed on the Alaska Department of Revenue’s website.
