Doctor Sooj, an NHS GP and A&E doctor, advised you to consume less coffee if you’re having trouble sleeping, anxiousness, or heart palpitations. Dr Sool took to TikTok, where he has 59,000 followers, and explained: “If you are having trouble sleeping, anxiousness, or heart palpitations, please minimize the amount of coffee you are consuming. Ideally, cease totally.”

Dr. Sooj did acknowledge that drinking coffee has health advantages, but he stressed the need of sleep.

He went on to say, “Coffee has a lengthy half-life and lingers in your system for far longer than you believe. This implies that your morning cup of coffee is likely to still be in your system when you try to sleep that night, significantly reducing the quality of your sleep.

Coffee impacts your sleep since it includes caffeine. Caffeine is a natural stimulant that affects the brain and nervous system. In the short term, it improves alertness and attentiveness, which is why many of us consume coffee in the morning.

According to the bulk of medical research and guidelines, including the NHS, most adults may safely ingest between 300 and 400mg per day, while pregnant women should eat no more than 200mg. More than 600mg of caffeine per day has been associated with sleeplessness, anxiety, irritability, high blood pressure, and upset stomachs.
