A woman in Louisiana is suspected of carrying out a brutal murder-suicide earlier this week, in which she appears to have shot and killed her husband and her nephew, who was eight years old, before turning the pistol on herself.
At the site of the crime, it appeared as though Jenny Williamson, who was 49 years old at the time, had shot and killed her husband, Steven Williamson, who was also 49 years old, before shooting and killing her nephew, who was living with the pair. Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard, who spoke about the incident at a news conference, stated that she ultimately ended her own life by aiming the gun at herself and then taking her own life.
When they decided to perform a wellness check on the family of three early on Monday morning, just before 8 o’clock, a member of the family had the uncomfortable experience of discovering the blood bath. Within a short period, sheriff’s deputies arrived at the residence located on West Bates Road, which is located south of Albany.
According to Ard, the Williamson residence had not been the subject of any previous calls to the Sheriff’s Office before Monday, and there had never been any family members who had reported instances of domestic violence. The couple had relocated from Jefferson Parish exactly one year before they arrived in Livingston Parish, thus they were relatively new to the area.
It was thought by the Sheriff’s Office that the shooting took place either late on Friday night or early on Saturday morning. According to their estimates, the dead were found inside the residence during the weekend. In addition to not divulging the identity of the child, Ard did not go into detail about the gruesome scene, including the precise injuries sustained by the victims and the shooters as per themirror.
Although the Williamson couple did not have a biological connection to the small child, the child was legally required to remain with them as part of a custody arrangement. According to Ard, who was responding to queries from the media, “These are difficult because the people who are involved have passed away.”
