A mother is accused of dumping her infant in a trash can before fighting someone at a Walmart in Louisiana, authorities said. Officers responded to a call regarding a brawl involving several ladies at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, according to the Eunice Police Department.
Officers analyzed surveillance footage and discovered a group of people arguing at the store’s door, according to a news release. Police described one of the victims as a 38-year-old mother clutching her 6-month-old child in her arms. The mother is then captured on video putting her kid into a garbage can before punching another individual, according to authorities.

The brawl had ended by the time police arrived, and the newborn had not been wounded, according to authorities. To protect the identity of her child, McClatchy News will not identify the mother.

The mother was charged with simple battery and cruelty to youngsters, while her 20-year-old niece, who is accused of being involved in the fight, was also charged with simple battery, according to kansascity.
