KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KWCH) – People who are going to their holiday destination may feel like they got an early Christmas present when gas prices go down.

“Gas prices are lower this year, which is great considering how much everything else has cost,” traveler Michelle Massey said.

According to GasBuddy, the national average has been going down for 13 weeks in a row, and prices are now the lowest they’ve been in more than two years. The price of a gallon of regular gas across the country was $3.10 on Wednesday. The average in Kansas was about $2.74.

There is also good news for people who are going to their vacation spot. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, fewer business flights are being canceled in 2023 than at any other time since 2018.
