In Fort Worth, Texas, on Monday, an explosion occurred at the Sandman Signature Fort Worth Downtown Hotel, resulting in nearly 21 individuals sustaining injuries and significant debris strewn across the downtown area.
MedStar, the emergency medical services provider, reported that one person was critically injured, four were in serious condition, and the rest had minor injuries. Although fire officials suspect a gas explosion, investigations are ongoing to confirm the precise cause.
The incident took place in close proximity to city hall and the convention center, prompting emergency responders to locate and rescue individuals, including one initially unaccounted for person, and evacuate those trapped in the hotel’s basement.

The exact number of injured individuals who were hotel guests or pedestrians remains unknown.
Fourteen individuals were transported to nearby hospitals, as reported by officials. During a comprehensive sweep conducted by firefighters, one person initially unaccounted for was located, as per officials.

The hotel, situated near the Fort Worth Convention Center, commenced operations in May after a thorough conversion of the Waggoner Building, a historic structure in Fort Worth dating back to 1920.
