First Alert: The Arrival Of Spring Brings Much-needed Rain

0

Miss MERIDIAN (WTOK) -Hi there to all of you. Since the hard freeze warnings for our area have finally ended, I hope you are having a great day.

With the warm-up, it appears that a hint of spring is approaching, with Tuesday’s highs expected to reach the upper 60s and low 70s. We will see a lot of moisture pour in from the Gulf of Mexico as spring appears to be approaching. When this moisture combines with the several passing fronts, our area will experience a lot of rainfall.

We might expect anywhere from two to four inches of rain in east Mississippi and western Alabama, but in certain isolated cases, places further west could receive more than four inches.

Make sure you have several means to receive updates since in certain localized incidents, flash floods may become a problem.

We will be constantly monitoring this since most of these storms won’t be severe, but there is a slim risk of severe weather on Wednesday and Thursday. The threat is low, and confidence in the timing and strength of the storms isn’t always in accord.

Enjoy the warmer weather, and when Tuesday rolls around, make sure your rain gear is ready.
