Two people are facing charges for their alleged roles in a retail theft scheme that stole thousands of dollars in products from area Target and Home Depot stores, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office stated that its Organized Retail Theft (ORT) Working Group agreed to purchase stolen products from the suspects, Christopher Hawkins, 37, and Thianna Robinson, 23.

Hawkins allegedly met with investigators to sell the stolen things and was arrested, according to authorities.

Investigators secured a search warrant and recovered more than $8,000 in stuff, including a “staggering” amount of tools, gadgets, and other items discovered in mounds under blankets on his living room floor.

Hawkins was detained on various offenses, including retail theft of $3,000 or more and trading in stolen property, according to the sheriff’s office.

Robinson was served with a felony arrest warrant. Anyone with information on her location is requested to contact police at 813-247-8200.

“Our Organized Retail Theft Working Group’s meticulous investigation exemplifies our detailed and diligent efforts in combating this crime.” “Not only did this successful operation bring a suspect to justice, but it also reclaimed over $11,500 in stolen goods,” stated Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Let this serve as a warning: retail theft is not a victimless crime, and we will undoubtedly pursue those who aim to disrupt our local economy.”
