The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call reporting a car that had fallen into the Pacoima Wash.
According to nbclosangeles, The accident happened in the 15100 block of W. Parthenia in North Hills on Thursday afternoon.
Rescue division officials responded on the ground and in the air, but no trapped persons were found.
According to the officials, the car involved looked to have been abandoned and carried into the river by the rain.
As a measure of safety, the rescue forces conducted a preliminary search in neighboring locations to rule out the possibility that anybody had been swept away by the river, but no victims were located.
The LAFD halted the inquiry and categorized it as a false alarm to free up rescue units for other situations.
