An Indiana County man is accused of sending sexually explicit communications to what he believed was a 15-year-old girl.
Ryan Gabelli, 32, is in prison for allegedly sending obscene communications to a fake teen from the 814 Predhunters, according to a criminal complaint. Gabelli allegedly began texting the teen on May 27, after meeting him on a dating site.
The counterfeit teen claimed to be 15 in the messages to Gabelli. Police reported that Gabelli confirmed the decoy’s age and stated that “he was not trying to go to jail.” Between May 30 and June 14, Gabelli texted and called the decoy several times, discussing “a lot of sexual content,” according to the affidavit. Gabelli then made plans to pick up the youngster and drive her to one of her relatives homes on June 14. He stated in text messages that he planned to pick her up at the Young Township Park and Ride between 8 and 9:30 p.m.
Pennsylvania State Police responded to the spot and discovered Gabelli about 9:45 p.m. He was then detained and sent to PSP Punxsutawney.

During transit, he allegedly questioned officers if he was being arrested about the girl. According to the lawsuit, Gabelli agreed in an interview that he should not have attempted to meet with the girl, but claimed they were just hanging out.
Gabelli is currently in Jefferson County Prison, on a $100,000 bail. He is charged with felony statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse of a person under the age of 16, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors, criminal use of a communication facility, and misdemeanor indecent assault and corruption of minors.
The preliminary hearing is slated for June 26.
