WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN AUSTIN’S CENTRAL Business District IDENTIFIED as 42-year-old Shannon Smith

AUSTIN, Texas – A woman who was found dead in the central business district of Austin on Monday morning has been identified.

Officers were called to the alley in the 500 block of East 6th Street on August 26 at around 1:38 a.m., where they found a lady who was bleeding. Blood was detected on the shirt of a lady who was lying on the ground when the cops arrived. The individual was eventually determined to be Shannon Smith, who was 42 years old. Her wounds ultimately proved fatal for her.

Police officers from the Atlanta Police Department were contacted by someone who claimed to know who was responsible for the incident. Further investigation led to the discovery of Gregory Watkins, who is wheelchair-bound and 54 years old.

Watkins told the cops He was robbed of his money and narcotics by Smith, who approached him with a knife at his side. After that, Watkins struck Smith once, and according to the police, it may have been a metal rod that Smith was carrying.

At this time, the Travis County District Attorney’s Office has investigatedĀ the matter, and they have determined that no charges will be brought. With that being said, the investigation into this issue is still ongoing.
