A shootout happened overnight in an apartment building, hurting three teens and totaling one truck when it hit a tree in West Dallas. Police are now looking into what happened.

According to news4sanantonio, Dallas police were called to the Villa Creek homes in the 3000 block of Vickers Street at 11:37 p.m. because there had been a shooting.

When police arrived, they saw three teens who had been shot, a broken red car, and a black truck that had crashed into a tree head-on. After looking into it more, the police said that two groups of teens met at the apartment complex and got into a fight over something.

After that, both sides got in their cars and started shooting at each other all over the complex. Officers say the people in the black truck tried to run away to avoid being shot, but they lost control and hit a parked car before crashing into a tree head-on.

Police say the three riders were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

At this point, no one knows what happened to the other group, but police say they are still on the run.

The investigation is still going on.
