A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 on Saturday afternoon injured two pedestrians and sent them to the hospital.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the disastrous incident occurred around 4:16 p.m. on southbound I-5 near Templin Highway.
According to reports, the two-vehicle incident on southbound Interstate 5 injured two people.
Authorities said the initial incident occurred around 4:16 p.m. and involved three automobiles, with no injuries initially reported. Pedestrians exited their automobiles and congregated on the right shoulder.
As traffic halted after the incident, a Ford pickup truck driving in the first lane lost control. The truck drifted into the right shoulder and collided with a red SUV. Both automobiles collided with the pedestrians on the shoulder, injuring two.
Officials said one of the pedestrians had critical injuries and was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, while the condition of the second injured person is unknown. Updates on the airlifted patient’s status are pending.
