A mother’s death at the graduation ceremony for her daughter at Ohio State University has been determined to be a suicide.
PEOPLE was able to receive an autopsy report that stated that Larissa R. Brady, who was 53 years old, passed away on May 5 due to severe blunt force injuries.
Brady was reportedly present at the stadium for her daughter’s graduation, but she had already parted ways with the rest of her family before to her passing, as stated in the summary report. It is said that she revealed to her daughter, as she was entering the stadium, “that she loved her and would always be her mother.”
Following the findings of the postmortem report, Brady was known to have a history of anxiety, borderline personality disorder, and bipolar disorder. Additionally, she confessed to having “two prior suicide attempts.” In May, the office of the coroner stated that the death of Brady was being investigated as an apparent suicide, and the police did not suspect any illegal activity.
According to a prior statement sent to PEOPLE by the Franking County Coroner’s Office, Brady was pronounced dead on May 5 at 12:25 p.m. local time. Fingerprints were used to ascertain her identity. In a prior account, the Columbus Dispatch stated that the ceremony resumed without any interruptions and that the speakers did not mention the earlier incident.
As reported by WBNS, a CBS station, there were more than 12,000 pupils there on that particular day.
“Grieving the death of Larissa Brady, a family member of one of our graduates,” the school said in a statement that was issued after her passing, expressing her sorrow over her passing.
