After falling from a window on the ninth floor, a young boy passed away.
According to reports from the ABC affiliate WJRT-TV, the CBS affiliate WNEM-TV, and MLive.com, the boy passed away after falling from a window on the ninth floor of Richert Manor in Flint, Michigan, on Friday, June 21. His family has recognized him as King Anthony Messiah Davis.
It was around noon local time when the incident took place, according to the reports.
According to Corey Davis, the child’s father, who spoke with WJRT-TV, he and King’s mother both reside in Richert Manor; however, they do so in entirely different apartments. At the time of his son’s fall, he described himself as being outside.
“I come back, and my baby is dead,” Davis said according to the outlet. She had already made her way downstairs to retrieve the infant by the time I fled. “What happened?” I said as I was racing behind her at the time. “King fell out of the window,” according to what she stated.
PEOPLE was informed by Leon El-Alamin, the First Ward Councilman of Flint, that this was not the first time a child had fallen out of a window of a complex that was managed by the Flint Housing Commission. However, the police have not disclosed any additional information regarding how the boy fell, and it is not immediately clear who was watching him at the time.
There was a request made to the Flint Police Department and the Flint Housing Commission, but there was no quick answer received.
Right now, research is in progress.
