An aide to Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) told The Hill Thursday that the couple, Mindy Noce and Scott, plans to get married in early August.

Scott’s spokesman, Nathan Brand, told The Hill that the South Carolina Republican and Noce will get married in Scott’s home state. That’s why they’ll get married soon after the 2024 Republican National Convention in July and before the vote in November.

Scott told everyone that he was going to marry Noce in January. He proposed to her on a beach walk at sunset on Kiawah Island, S.C.

According to Scott, having to talk about the proposal is a little awkward for him because he is shy and quiet most of the time. But he told The Washington Post at the time, “It’s the most exciting thing I’ll do with my life besides making Jesus my Lord.”

He said, “I’ve been very patient and prayerful. I’m excited and a little nervous. I couldn’t be more thankful to have found a soul mate and someone who shares many of my interests, passions, and goals.”

After they got engaged, Scott told the Post that he and Noce had been dating for about a year. They met at church and became close through Bible study.

People often wondered about the senator’s love life before he confirmed that he was in a relationship at the end of last year. During his recent race for the White House, some people wondered if he might be the first president in more than 100 years who wasn’t married.
