THREE KILLED, SIX INJURED After 16-year-old in Stolen Car Causes Fatal Hickory Hill Crash

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Three people were killed and six others injured when police claimed a 16-year-old driving a stolen car attempted to flee cops, blew a red light, and caused a five-car pileup in Hickory Hill on Tuesday night.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), authorities attempted to stop the adolescent before the accident. According to MPD, the kid was driving a vehicle stolen from the Shadowbrook Apartments on Monday, August 19. According to MPD, the 16-year-old and another suspect utilized rifles and pistols to steal a man’s black Chrysler 300.

Police said officers tried the traffic stop just before 9:50 p.m. Tuesday at Getwell Road and Cottonwood, but the youngster continued driving. Officers lost the car, which was eventually discovered at Kirby Parkway and East Raines Road, according to MPD.

According to MPD, the juvenile ran a red light and crashed into five other vehicles.

Two women were killed in the crash, while another was taken to the hospital and ultimately died, according to authorities. The young driver had non-life-threatening injuries. According to MPD, two of the ladies who died were 26 and one was 47. A 2-year-old daughter also sustained injuries. Police first transported the kid to the hospital in non-critical condition, but her family informed FOX13 on Wednesday that she was placed in serious condition.

Shekila Sively (26), Patrice Hughes (47), and Dantrice Stanback (26), according to family relatives, were the ladies killed.

The 16-year-old driver was charged with aggravated robbery, avoiding arrest with a car, and possessing illegal weapons, namely a machine gun.

MPD stated that no officers were wounded.

FOX13 got footage depicting the events leading up to the incident. At least one automobile explodes into flames following an accident at a petrol station, and cops arrive shortly after.
