Austin, TX – The temperatures in Texas have reached triple digits, which has prompted heat advisories to be issued throughout the region.
Residents of Texas should brace themselves for excessive heat this week. Today, high temperatures in Austin are forecast to reach 98 degrees Fahrenheit, and they are projected to continue to rise to over 100 degrees through Friday and into the weekend. To prevent illnesses that are caused by heat, residents are encouraged to adopt preventative measures.
The National Weather Service of the United States suggests that Low temperatures in the Austin-San Antonio area will be in the high 70s, and temperatures will range from 100 degrees Fahrenheit to 103 degrees Fahrenheit.
According to the forecast, there will be persistently high temperatures and humidity, and heat indices will make it feel even hotter than it already is. The days with the highest temperatures are expected to be Thursday and Friday, with highs of 101 degrees Fahrenheit and 102 degrees Fahrenheit, respectively.
Heat advisories are currently in effect, and residents are being urged to drink plenty of water, minimize their time spent outside, and keep an eye on vulnerable populations like the elderly and their pets because of the heat.
It is strongly recommended that workers who are outside take frequent breaks in settings that are either shaded or air-conditioned. To assist local inhabitants in coping with the excessive heat, cooling centers will be opened all around the area.
