The connector to US-101 Southbound has been closed due to a significant traffic collision on Interstate 280 Northbound.
The California Highway Patrol reported the incident, which happened at around 7:40 PM and resulted in a major response from emergency personnel.
One car was involved in the crash, and it sustained substantial damage, including a yellow attenuator barrel. At least one person involved in the collision received medical assistance after emergency personnel were sent to the scene. As of right moment, the precise amount of injuries is unknown.
The CHP has issued a SIGALERT alerting the public of the closure of the I-280 NB to US-101 SB connector as a result of the incident. It is anticipated that the closure may result in delays, therefore commuters are encouraged to look for other routes if they can.
The wrecked vehicle is being removed by tow services as the cleanup gets underway. Even more complicating the scenario is the scattered debris across all lanes, which calls for the closure in order to conduct a full evaluation and clearing.
To oversee the closure and help with traffic flow, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is working with the CHP in coordination. Updates are anticipated as the situation changes, although the precise length of the closure is still unknown.
