TEEN KILLED, ANOTHER INJURED in Mount Morris Township Yard Shootout; 18-year-old Arrested

GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. – Genesee County, Michigan An 18-year-old has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in the Beecher area in June.

According to court records, Amarion Cain faces the following seven charges:

  • One charge of open murder.
  • Two charges of assault with the intent to murder.
  • Four weapons charges.

The shooting in which authorities believe Cain was engaged occurred on June 25. He is accused of causing a physical altercation in a yard near the 6100 block of Hilton Lane in Mount Morris Township.

Police said the shootout began when an SUV pulled up in front of a house. Three people came out and started assaulting someone in the front yard.

Someone else in the yard began exchanging shots with someone in the SUV. Khamani Lindsey, 17, who had come in the SUV, was found lying in the middle of Hilton Lane with gunshot wounds. He was declared deceased due to his injuries.

An ambulance transported another 17-year-old who was hiding behind a truck to a nearby hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds to his arm and leg.

Cain was detained in Lima, Ohio, in August by US Marshals. He was extradited to Flint and arraigned on September 5. He is being jailed without bond while awaiting another court hearing on September 19.

According to court records, Cordell Warwick Allen, 18, is also charged with assault with intent to murder in connection with the incident. He is set to appear in court again on October 2.
