An 18-year-old boy from Florida was caught after Miami-Dade police say he killed his ex-girlfriend’s mother after she broke up with him.

A police report obtained by PEOPLE says that the 16-year-old suspect shot Eulalia Gonzalez, 38, in the head around 7:40 p.m. on June 27 while she was holding her baby daughter on the front porch of her house.

Affidavit says Gonzalez was shot and then taken to Jackson South Medical Center, where she was later declared dead.

The suspect is being charged with first-degree murder and having a gun while being a child. It’s not clear right now if he has pleaded guilty or hired a lawyer.

Police say Gonzalez’s daughter broke up with the suspect about two months before the killing after dating him for nine months. It is said that the suspect talked to the woman during that time and told her daughter that “if she wasn’t with him, she could not be with anyone else,” which is a threat.

According to the statement, Gonzalez’s neighbor was outside when she saw the suspect walk up to the victim with a gun. The neighbor went inside to get help. Then, she left her house and saw the “unresponsive” victim with a gunshot wound to the head, the document says.

The mother of the victim’s baby daughter was not hurt in the attack.

After getting a search warrant for the suspect’s home, cops arrested him. He supposedly told police that he used a ride-share app to get to the crime scene and then leave it. According to the affidavit, he reportedly said he was “carrying out his plan of killing one of his ex-girlfriend’s family members” because she broke up with him.

González had a GoFundMe page that says she was “full of life, laughter, and love, especially for her kids.” She had four kids. The newest one was only one month old.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of my sister, who was taken from us far too soon,” it says. “In this incredibly difficult time, we are seeking financial support to help cover the unexpected expenses that have arisen, including funeral costs, legal fees, and other related expenses.”

As of this writing, $1,420 had been raised, which was less than the $20,000 goal.
