Suspect in Child Sex Crime Investigation Severely Injured in Wise County Shooting Incident

The Wise County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation following a shooting that occurred in St. Paul and resulted in the serious injury of one individual.

Following reports of a shooting that occurred on Thursday, deputies from both Wise County and Dickenson County responded to the 5700 block of Creek Hill Road, as stated by the sheriff’s office. It was discovered by the deputies that a gunshot had taken place when they arrived.

According to the authorities, a person who was the subject of an investigation into potential sexual offenses committed against children entered a residence from which he had been temporarily prohibited from accessing.

Two bullets were discharged after an “altercation” that occurred when a member of the family attempted to escort the individual from the property.

According to the sheriff’s office, one of the individuals involved was transported to a hospital via helicopter for treatment of significant injuries as they were being transported there.

Witnesses were questioned by investigators from both the Dickenson County Sheriff’s Office and the Wise County Sheriff’s Office, according to the release.

As the interviews came to a close, both the Commonwealth’s Attorney Brett Hall and Sheriff Grant Kilgore came to the opinion that there should be no charges filed at this time with the shootings. On the other hand, the Wise County Sheriff’s Office and the Wise County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office are continuing their investigation into this occurrence; they are working together as per WJHL

St. Paul resident Loren Frost was charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a juvenile, two counts of sodomy, and one act of aggravated sexual battery, as stated in the release regarding the charges against him.
