St. Petersburg COUPLE ARRESTED FOR SEVERE CHILD ABUSE After Toddler Found With ‘SIGNIFICANT INTERNAL INJURIES’

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Two people were taken into custody on charges of child abuse after a girl of two years old was discovered to have “significant internal injuries.”

Roseshana Smith, then 23 years old, and Jordan Gatlin, then 26 years old, were both taken into custody for the crime of severe child abuse, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Investigators have stated that the girl, who was two years old at the time, was transported to the hospital on Thursday to receive medical treatment. While she was there, it was discovered that she had many scars and major inside injuries, all of which were in different stages of healing.

An eight-month-old boy who was also in Smith and Gatlin’s care was also arrested on a child neglect charge, according to the police. Smith and Gatlin were arrested on their own.

The authorities have stated that they are carrying on with their investigation into the matter.
