COLUMBUS, Ohio – An accident that occurred on Saturday afternoon on the north side of Columbus and involved a semi-truck occurred on Interstate 270 East near Sawmill Road. The accident resulted in serious injuries to one individual. Following a period of closure that lasted for several hours, all of the eastbound lanes are now open.
A collision was reported shortly after 4:15 p.m., and emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene. During the collision, a semi-truck reportedly collided with a wall or barrier, according to Chief Jeff Geitter of the Columbus Division of Fire Battalion.
Geitter stated that one individual was sent to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition after being transferred there.
In the aftermath of the collision, the eastbound lanes of Interstate 270 were shut down for more than five hours.
As of right now, we do not have any additional information regarding the cause of the collision.
