SACRAMENTO HIGH SCHOOLS TEMPORARILY SHUT DOWN Amid Gunfire Incident Investigation

There were reports of gunfire in the vicinity, which prompted the police to put two high schools in the Sacramento region under lockdown.

“Loud noises” were heard around Discovery High School, according to the Natomas Unified School District, which stated that it reacted to the situation at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Monday. Both the DHS and Natomas High School campuses were shut down while law enforcement agents conducted their investigation into the event.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, the sounds were reported to have originated from the school, but they were not heard at the school itself.

According to the officers who searched, they discovered two youths who had fled after being confronted in the vicinity of Fong Ranch Road and Bridgegate Way. It was approximately 2:55 p.m. when the lockdowns at the school were removed, and both of them were taken into custody.

There is still an investigation being conducted into the incident.
