Russell Qualls, a Murder Suspect, Passes Away in Tarrant County Jail

On January 9, a guy who was 44 years old passed away in the Tarrant County prison, as reported by the sheriff’s office.

Russell Qualls of Fort Worth was recognized by that Tarrant County medical examiner and a family member. A 46-year-old guy was shot and killed outside a South Freeway motel in April 2023, and he was placed into jail on murder charges.

According to the sheriff’s office, Qualls had a medical issue at 11 a.m. and passed away while sleeping. The office stated that there were no indications of foul play and that he was housed in a solitary cell.

Yolanda Qualls, a cousin of the Qualls, stated that her cousin Carlus Qualls, who is also doing time for murder, informed her of Russell’s death.

According to Yolanda, she and Russell were brought up together when his mother passed away while he was being born, and her mother took him in.

Yolanda explained that although they were brought up as a brother and sister, they are cousins by blood.
