To locate these new places, Realtor.com compiled a list of median list prices for all cities in the United States from late 2022 to late 2023. We’ve updated the median list price using April 2024 data. The original study also included median age data from the US Census Bureau for each city.
Following that, data was evaluated on single-family, condo, and townhouse listings on Realtor.com during that time period to determine the percentage of these listings that included keywords suggestive of a retirement-focused community in their listing description.
