Pregnant Woman Loses Unborn Child After Being Hit by Car in Fairfield

A pregnant woman lost her unborn child after being hit by a car in Fairfield on Tuesday evening, according to the Fairfield Police Department.

According to authorities, the vehicle just missed striking a stroller that the woman was pushing with her toddler inside.

The accident occurred around 7:18 p.m., as the woman was crossing East Tabor Avenue near Manor Avenue.

Police stated the vehicle’s driver remained on the scene and cooperated with officers. The mother was rushed to a hospital in severe condition, but her unborn child died, according to authorities. Her toddler sustained minor injuries and received treatment.

Police said they didn’t believe drunk driving was a factor in the accident.

A woman was killed in a different incident the following morning after being struck by a vehicle, according to Fairfield Police.

That accident occurred several miles west of the previous one, near Waterman Boulevard and Capitola Way.

Police say the woman was crossing Waterman Blvd. in the morning when she was hit.

The motorist remained at the scene of the incident and cooperated with authorities, and officers believed drunk driving was not a factor.
