Perry Worker Killed in Forklift Accident Identified as 29-year-old Andrew Morgan, Police Report

The victim of a fatal forklift accident has been named by the Perry Police Department.

The accident occurred Tuesday afternoon, about 3:30 p.m., at Highway 127 and Woodland Boulevard.

Mjr. Heath Dykes claims Twiggs County company AA Fence was building a fence.

Andrew Williams Morgan, 29, of Gordon, was operating a forklift when he fell from it. Dykes claims one of the forklift’s tires ran him over.

According to Police Chief Alan Everidge, Morgan was transferred to Houston Medical Center and pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries.

“This was a horrible accident and our thoughts go out to the family,” Dykes said to the crowd.

The Perry Police Department reported one day after Morgan’s death that their department and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration were both investigating his death.

Perry Police say they are conducting a joint investigation into Morgan’s death.
