On June 12, a court in Arkansas handed down a sentence of 25 years in prison to a man from Oklahoma, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Arkansas. Allen Ray Thompson, 32 years old, was taken into custody on August 3, 2023, in the remote area of Boone County, close to Harrison. The Arkansas State Police stopped him, and a dog that had been trained to detect drugs warned the troopers during the stopping.

The police discovered more than ten pounds, which is equivalent to 4,934.5 grams, of methamphetamine, about two thousand pills of fentanyl, four guns, and one firearm that had been stolen. Due to the fact that Thompson has a history of felony convictions, he is not permitted to legally own a firearm.

The United States District Court for the District of Fayetteville, Honorable Judge Timothy L. Brooks, filed charges against Thomspon, charging him with possessing methamphetamine and fentanyl with the intent to distribute them.

According to the statement, Thompson, who was born and raised in Lawton, Oklahoma, was allegedly in possession of text messages that demonstrated he was delivering drugs to customers in the Harrison area. These consumers had previously paid Thompson through an internet-based peer-to-peer money transfer network.

As part of his sentence, Thompson will be required to pay a fine of $2,000 and will also be subject to supervised release for a period of five years afterward as per fox16.com

In addition to the Arkansas State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force of the State of Arkansas conducted an investigation into the matter.
