An Ohio man could spend the rest of his life in jail for the murder of his wife, whom he shot in the head in the shower while having marital troubles, then “chopped her up” and concealed her dismembered remains in waste bags in a shed on their property.
Christopher M. Morrison, 35, was sentenced for murder, tampering with evidence, possessing criminal tools, gross abuse of a body, and weapon specifications in the death of his wife, Tiffany Morrison, 34, according to a news release from Columbiana County Prosecutor Vito J. Abruzzino.
He will be eligible for parole after 25 years. He pleaded guilty to the charge last month.
“Tiffany’s body was taken to an outdoor shed on the property. “The hole in the shower was hidden and patched,” Assistant Columbiana County Prosecutor Ryan Weikart told local CBS station WKBN. “A heinous and unimaginable act that shows his genuine lack of remorse.”
Ruth Mahley, the victim’s mother, testified about the consequences of the tragedy.
“The wrath, hurt, and disbelief were unfathomable. “Our lives were shattered,” she explained. “I find myself dialing Tiffany’s number and then hanging up when I realize with a heavy heart that I will never hear that sweet voice again.”
Morrison apologized and stated that he would long regret it.
“Our children now have to go forward without either of us,” he stated, according to the site. “There’s nothing I regret more. I’ll be sorry for this until my last breath.” Megan Bickerton, a judge in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, reprimanded him, according to lawandcrime.
“You were arrogant, selfish, and just demeaning to a woman whose life was lost,” the prosecutor said to him. “That was not the reaction of a man who loved and cared for his wife. The monster attempted to get away with murder.”
Tiffany Morrison died of a single gunshot wound to the head on December 18, 2023, according to investigators. According to local Fox affiliate WJW, the couple’s three young children and a 63-year-old woman were present at the time of her death. Following the murder, Christopher Morrison purchased a saw, blades, rubbing alcohol, and garbage bags to dispose of the body and conceal the crime from police enforcement, according to prosecutors.
The pair had been living together although “they were experiencing difficulties in their marital relationship,” according to an affidavit.
According to the East Liverpool Review, during a hearing in July 2024, the defendant admitted to the crime under cross-examination.
So you knew where she was. “You shot her, chopped her up, and abandoned her in the shed,” Columbiana County Assistant Prosecutor Steve Yacovone asked the defendant.
“Yes,” Morrison responded.
