Mrs. Linda Jean Brown, age 76, of Summerville, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Brown was born in LaFollette, Tennessee on April 2, 1945, daughter of the late Nelson Peddycoart and the late Rachel Montegue Peddycoart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Pankney C. Brown, on October 15, 1973, by a brother, Jerry Peddycoart, and by a sister, Rachel Toler. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Armuchee High School and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years. Prior to retirement, she worked for Best Manufacturing in Menlo. Mrs. Brown loved to sew and care for her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Delores Godfrey (Keith), and Samantha Brown; a brother-in-law, Benny Toler; nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 11am at Greenhill Memory Gardens, Summerville. The Rev. Kenny Jennings and the Rev. Brandon Bishop will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Friday from 5 until 7pm.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the cemetery on Saturday at 10:45am and include: Derrick Boston, Robert Johnson, Eric Willingham, Joey Godfrey, Randy Taylor, and Scott Satterfield.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, has charge of the arrangements.
