Mrs. Jeanette Penrod, age 75 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Penrod was born in Trion, Georgia on May 11, 1945, daughter of the late Jim Sharp and Ollie Aaron Sharp.  She was a member of the Harrell Street Church of God and was a homemaker.  She was a social butterfly that never met a stranger and loved to meet and talk to people.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Penrod was preceded by her husband, Walter B. Penrod; son, James Ramey; and sisters, Imogene Sharp and JoAnn Adams.

Mrs. Penrod is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Casey Ramey; daughter, Tammy Jackson (David Patterson); honorary Son, Mickey Barnette (Christie Johnson Camp); step daughter, Angie Penrod; sisters and brother-in-law, Lillie and Billy Dale; Doris Smith, Helen Conway and Josie Ramey; grandchildren, Brianna Ramey, Kensey Alexander, Howard Jeffries, Jr. and Seth Langley; great grandchildren, Kaniyha Taylor and Sekani Taylor; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Penrod will be held Friday, October 2, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. in the Harrell Street Church of God with Rev. Jeff Shaver and Rev. Freddie Bell officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Seth Langley, Reuben Brock, Gary Smith, David Smith, Dewayne Tinney and Thomas Hamilton.

Mrs. Penrod will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.  On Friday, Mrs. Penrod will be carried to the Harrell Street Church of God where she will also lie in state from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.

The family of Mrs. Penrod, as well as the staff of Coffman Funeral Home, advise anyone that plans to attend the services for Mrs. Penrod, to please follow the CDC recommendations as it pertains to Social distancing and social gatherings.  Facemasks are not required, but are recommended.
