Mrs. Clara Mae “Boe” Maddux McCauley Flood, age 95 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Flood was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on April 28, 1926, daughter of the late William H. Maddux and Eunice Burke McCauley.  She enjoyed fishing, camping and working with her flowers, but her favorite activity was spending time with her family.  Prior to retirement, she was employed with Riegel Textile, Montgomery Knitting Mill and the Lyerly Glove Mill.  Following her retirement, she helped her husband, Hershel with the family chicken farm.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Flood was preceded in death by her step-father, Bryson D. McCauley, Sr.; her husband, Hershel Lee Flood, sisters, Gertrude Millican and Grace Agnew; and a brother, B. D. McCauley.

Mrs. Flood is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Gene Wesson and Cheryl and Neal Black; grandchildren, Bob and Denise Wesson; Tim Wesson and Zach Cooper; great granddaughter, Jenna Claire Cooper; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Flood will be held Friday, August 13, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Chaplain Jennifer Lee and Mr. Bryson McCauley officiating. Interment will follow in the Flood Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Neal Black, Gene Wesson, Tim Wesson, Bob Wesson, Zach Cooper and Kevin McGuire.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Mrs. Flood’s nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, James “Mac” Agnew and the staff of Heyman Hospice Care.

Mrs. Flood will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
