Mrs. Bonnie Louise Russell, age 84 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Russell was born in Trion, Georgia on February 24, 1936, daughter of the late James Robert Hensley and Cora Carolina Corbin Hensley.  She was a member of the Central Avenue Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the Choir.  Early in her career, she was employed in the Weave Room at Riegel/Mt. Vernon Mills, but devoted her life to being a stay at home mom and caregiver.  She loved to garden, read, walking the track field and dancing.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Curtis Russell; sister, Hazel Dyer; brothers, Horace Hensley, Homer Hensley and Howard Hensley; and grandchildren, Justin Nathaniel Russell and Chelsea LeAnn Gilliland.

Mrs. Russell is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joye and Don Sabin; sons and daughters-in-law, James “Jim” and Teresa Russell and Brad and Sarah Russell; sister, Bobbie Cobb; grandchildren, Eric Russell, Melissa Russell Carnes, Katie Russell, Laura Russell Roderick, Michaela Russell, James Jeremy Russell and James Madison Gilliland, III; great grandchildren, Francie Russell, Nate Russell, Suzannah Russell, Conner Carnes, Cooper Carnes and a number of nieces and nehews.

Graveside and Interment Services for Mrs. Russell will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. in the West Hill Cemetery with Pastor Brandon Bishop, and Rev. Owen “Bud” Davis officiating.

Pallbearers will be Charles “Brad” Russell, James “Tuffy” Russell, Erik Russell, Austin Roderick, Derek Carnes and Butch Cordle.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Visitation will be held privately.

The family of Mrs. Russell, as well as the staff of Coffman Funeral Home,  advise anyone that plans to attend the services for Mrs. Russell, to please follow the CDC recommendations as it pertains to Social distancing and social gatherings.  Facemasks are not required, but are recommended.
